Start a merchant application on a merchant's behalf and complete Step 1 in the same call.

Send the business's industry and the ISO and sub-agent attribution. You are recorded as the primary agent unless you say otherwise. The application is created as a sales-submitted application awaiting scoring. No CAPTCHA or email verification is needed, because your API key identifies you.

The Idempotency-Key header is required. Set principal_authorized: true to record a permanent attestation, in your name, that the merchant's principal authorized this application.

Never send ssn, dl_number, routing_number or account_number. If any of them appear anywhere in the body, the request is rejected with 400. The merchant's principal supplies those through the completion handoff.

Authenticate with your agent onboarding API key.
